Body Mass Index

Body Mass Index, or BMI, is one way to measure your body composition. It is a popular equation based on your height and weight. Check out our Online Personal Training and Online Fitness Classes & Exercises too!

A BMI of:
19 to 24.9 is considered normal weight
25 – 30 is overweight
30 – 35 is obese
35+ is seriously obese

Weight: in Pounds
Height: Ft. In.

While BMI is widely used, like many estimators, it has its drawbacks. Since a body fat reading is not used, it does not discriminate between the over fat and very muscular. For the best results, use BMI with other indicators, such as a body fat composition test.
