HOW MUCH SHOULD I WEIGHT TRAIN?
Weight training has many benefits- strength gains, stronger bones, a toned body and even weight loss!
Sadly, many people do not workout with weights. According to the American Council on Exercise, a simple weight training program done only 1-2 times a week can help you achieve those benefits!!

Last Week's Tip:
CARDIO FOR WEIGHT LOSS?
Looking to lose weight? Jump on the treadmill, right? Maybe not.
Say you need to lose 10 lbs, and you walk on the treadmill for one hour a day...it would take you over 175 days to lose that 10 lbs!
The same weight loss can be accomplished in just 35 days with proper diet and weight training. Let iBodyFit.com help you with your weight loss and a toning program!
EAT TOO MUCH FOR THE SUPER BOWL?
The average person consumes 1,200 calories during the Super Bowl. That's enough food for many people for an entire day!
In total, about 200 million sodas, 30 million pounds of junk food, and 11 million pounds of potato chips are eaten on Super Bowl Sunday.
Fortunately, one bad day of eating is not going to affect your weight loss very much. Get back on track Monday morning with a healthy breakfast and a workout from iBodyFit.com!

HOW TO SET GOALS
This is the time of year that we all want to get in shape, or at least get a bit more fit. Before you begin your fitness program, it's a good idea to set some goals. Here are 3 tips to help setting goals:
1. SPECIFIC GOALS
Simply saying 'I will lose weigh this year', is not enough. Make your goal as specific as possible. 'I will lose 10 lbs'. Better yet, 'I will lose 10 lbs. in 5 weeks'.
2. REALISTIC GOALS
Don't plan to run a marathon in three weeks of training if you've never run in your life. Start with a smaller goal, like a 5k race or even just a mile jog. Work your way up to the bigger goals.
3. RE ASSESS GOALS
After you've set and attained your goal(s) re asses your current situation and set new goals!
The Perfect Workout
The perfect workout consists of three categories:
Cardio Training: For a strong heart and lungs.
Strength Training: For strong muscles, tendons, ligaments and bones.
Flexibility Training: For better Range of Motion, balance and stress relief.
The Perfect Workout
The Perfect Workout can be done in 30 minutes or less!

Why Lift Weights??
Many women avoid weight lifting (strength training) for fear of getting bulky or too big. Truth is, women need to strength train just as much as men. Lifting weights will not make you bulky or too big, as women simply do not have enough testosterone in their bodies for that outcome.
How Much Strength Training?
According to the American College of Sports Medicine, (ACSM) we should strength train 1-2 times per week.
Be sure to work each muscle correctly during these 1-2 weekly workouts.
